For all of you living in southwestern Morrow County and southeastern Marion County, who are at risk of losing your homes and your way of life as a result of this highway, here’s your current and future Ohio State Representatives: Riordan McClain and his daddy, Jeff McClain.

Father and son McClain both reside in Wyandot County, so their homes and way of life aren’t at risk of being destroyed by the proposed I-71 / US-23 connector highway–so please don’t worry about them.
They’ll be fine, rest assured.
Sonny Boy McClain’s term as State Representative of the 87th District expires at the end of this year and Daddy McClain is the only candidate of either party to file a petition to run, so he’s the presumptive heir to the 87th throne.
Sonny Boy McClain (age 42) has been in office since January 2018 and is the former chairman of the House’s Transportation Committee–a committee on which he currently serves.
The Transportation Committee plays an influential role in what transportation infrastructure projects, like highways, get included in legislation.
And remember, State Senator Bill Reineke (R-26th District), who allegedly represents the residents of both Marion and Morrow counties, currently serves on the Senate’s Transportation Committee.
Imagine that! Our State Representative serves on the House’s Transportation Committee and our State Senator serves on the Senate’s Transportation Committee.
What a coinkidink!
Unfortunately for the hard-working, overwhelmingly conservative folks of this part of the 87th District, Daddy McClain (Age 68) isn’t likely to do anything to stop this from crime being committed against the people of southwestern Morrow County and southeastern Marion County.
He’s been a politician for much of his life and has close ties to the powerful monied interests who care little about the little guy–regardless of their political persuasion.
They say that Ohio politicians play a game of musical chairs, moving from one position to the next for their entire careers.
That’s very much true, but hold my beer…
Here in the 87th District we not only do that–but we keep it all in the family!
