I’m sure that there’s a reasonable explanation for this, but several years’ worth of recorded minutes for the various committees of Marion City Council have suddenly disappeared from the city of Marion’s website.

Until recently, committee minutes (summary of proceedings) going back all the way to 2023 were posted on the city’s website and publicly available for review.
These records tell the story about what happened during a particular committee meeting: what topics were discussed, what councilman said what, and how the votes went down.
Since most legislation starts out its life in committee, these records are of critical importance from both a historical and transparency perspective.
The Swamp Fox has spent hours and hours researching and reading these records, so he can state unequivocally that they WERE there and now they’re GONE.
As Warden Samuel Norton said of Andy Dufresne after he mysteriously escaped from Shawshank Prison, “Lord, it’s a miracle! Man up and vanished like a fart in the wind!”
I sure hope these records didn’t pull an Andy Dufresne.
