WHO IS FUNDING THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR 86TH DISTRICT STATE REPReading Mode

The Swamp Fox has broken it all down for y’all, after analyzing the campaign finance reports filed with the Ohio Secretary of State, so be sure to check out those charts for all the potentially swampy details!

This position will represent all of Union County as well as Prospect, Pleasant and Marion Townships–including the city of Marion–in the statehouse next year, so it’s important!

29-year-old newly minted attorney, Ben Weber, has raked in $64,740.55 thru 01/29/2026, with $32,869.77 of that coming from labor unions, political action committees, and other non-individual contributors.

Businesswoman and former Jerome Township trustee, Wezlynn Davis (age 41), is largely funding her own campaign. She loaned her campaign committee $250,000, presumably to combat the big money political influences in our state. She has, however, also tallied up a total of $21,046.15 in other (almost entirely individual) contributions.

The last entrant into the race, Steven Wolfe (age 27), who currently serves on Marysville City Council, doesn’t appear to be receiving the PAC money either and is following Ms. Davis’s example by largely self-funding his campaign. He loaned his campaign $2,000 and has pulled in $1,484.43 in other contributions.

Check out the charts to see just where the money in this race is coming from.
