MARION RESIDENT KENT HALLORAN ANNOUNCES RUN FOR STATE REP OF THE 86TH DISTRICT AS DEMOCRATReading Mode

Kent Halloran, who has resided in the city of Marion since 2022 and recently ran an unsuccessful campaign as a write-in candidate for one of the at-large positions on Marion City Council, has announced that he is running in the Democratic primary for the 86th District State Representative position currently held by Republican Tracy Richardson.

Halloran, who works for The Ohio State University as a Water Compliance Engineer, has been very active in Marion’s Citizens for Democracy organization, which is funded by the Leftwing Indivisible Movement amongst others, and has sponsored the city’s “No Kings” protests and its recent pro-Open Borders and anti-ICE protest.

The primary is scheduled for May 5th and the general election will occur on November 3rd.

All candidates running for the 86th District rep position will need to submit the requisite number of valid petitions to the local Board of Elections by February 4th at 4 pm.

The 86th District encompasses all of Union County and a portion of Marion County, including the city of Marion.

As of now, Halloran is the only Democratic candidate to throw his hat in the ring.

On the Republican side, Wezlynn Davis, Ben Weber, Steven Wolfe and Damion J Greenawalt have announced their candidacies for the position.
